Grace Cathedral, San Francisco, CA

Grace Cathedral is an example of what man can do when inspired by God. Wikipedia writes, "In the early 1920s, the railroad baron and banker Charles Crocker donated his Nob Hill property for a cathedral. Designed in French Gothic style by Lewis Hobart, construction on the cathedral began in 1928. When it was finally completed in 1964, it was the third largest Episcopal cathedral in United States."   The architecture is incredible to me.  It is open during the day and you may enter in and walk through its massive spaces or you can pay for an official tour provided by a docent.  The Cathedral was kind enough to allow Robin and I in, allowing us to use our tripod and go to places normally not available to the general public.    During our time there the organist was playing the organ through the massive pipes in the Cathedral.  This added to the already impressive atmosphere.  Grace Cathedral is made of Reinforced concrete  that has been pounded to look as if it were made of stone.   It is well worth your while to see this impressive Cathedral.
